Modern Estimation agrees to produce a digital “estimate” document with the work description outlined in the email. The quantities, numbers, scope, or any other information provided in the estimate document will be factual to the best of our knowledge. By using or deriving any of the information provided in the final “estimate” document described above, you accept the information and quantities as accurate and waive any rights to any claims for errors in information. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide accurate drawings and scope of work. Modern Estimation does not warranty any of the information contained in the “estimate” document. Modern Estimation uses RS Means for obtaining local labor and material pricing. Modern Estimation is not responsible for variations in pricing between estimated database costs and final pricing. By hiring Modern Estimation to produce the estimate, you agree this estimate to be a guideline that is intended to be used for informational purposes only. Our material takeoffs and cost estimates are not professional recommendations rather strictly to be used as a guideline and resource to complete the pricing. Labor and material price varies by region, vendor, supplier, contractor, and installers and is compiled based on a construction cost database that is updated periodically and is subject to change without notice. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the customer to verify labor and material rates and adjust them manually where needed.

Estimated delivery of “estimate” is usually three (3) business days after you accept the quote and payment unless otherwise noted. There can be a delay of a few hours to days based on the scope and complexity of the project. Delivery date is an estimate and not guaranteed by the delivery window, nor is guaranteed by a customer’s bid or required date unless an expedite fee or guaranteed-by fee is included. Business days are defined as Monday-Friday, excluding all Holidays. In the event that an estimate is cancelled after payment and prior to delivery, Modern Estimation will review and make a determination of the amount of the refund if any, and will take into consideration costs incurred including labor costs, transaction fees, and other costs to determine any refunds. The minimum cancellation fee is 25% even if no work has been performed on the estimate. However, once payment is made, Modern Estimation reserves the right to refuse refunds and may issue a credit to be used for the next estimate(s).

A standard cost estimate consists of a spreadsheet with costs of labor and materials, markup, contingency, supervision, equipment, and relevant construction costs. Whereas a material material takeoff consists of basic material quantities not necessarily including accessories, connectors, screws, and other miscellaneous items required for installation. Any revisions to estimates different than our standard delivery is considered additional work and may incur additional fees. However, we usually do not charge for any small revisions, addendums or changes in drawings. While for considerable addendums, revisions or changes in drawings may incur a small additional fee.

Modern Estimation reserves the right to use any media of any format, company name, project name, individual name, testimonial, estimate, documentation, PDFs, drawings, images, client logos, or any other information for marketing purposes unless a written agreement in the form of a Non-Disclosure Agreement has been provided by Modern Estimation or the “client”. If any information is sensitive or is preferred to remain confidential, it is the responsibility of the client to notify us in writing so we may produce the proper Non-Disclosure Agreement to be signed by both parties.

Special Condition for Work by the CEO: When Ahsan Rasheed (Ash), the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Modern Estimation, personally undertakes the material takeoff for a project (on Planswift), such material takeoff shall be provided at no cost to the client. However, all other related services, including but not limited to the review of plans, review of estimates, coordination, communication, and any similar activities necessary to produce the estimate, shall be subject to a fee. This fee will be determined on a case-by-case basis and presented to the client in the form of a quote prior to the commencement of any work. The project will only begin upon the client’s acceptance of the quote and payment of the specified amount.
